Les Vignes

Les Vignes

Staying at Les Vignes offers guests experiences by the (literal) tractor load—where else can you walk from your private residence to a stable of thoroughbred horses, enjoy a game of Padel or a swim in the eco pool, feed alpaca, or simply watch the stars from your private hot tub?

A noble estate set on the slopes of Franschhoek’s majestic mountains, this secluded escape blends a remarkable degree of comfort with the peaceful beauty of a working winelands farm—the ideal retreat for those seeking both adventure and a moment of quiet among the vineyards.

Sleeping Arrangements

Les Vignes can welcome up to 4 guests and 2 infants. It offers a blend of comfort and simplicity, with bedrooms featuring king-size beds and ensuite bathrooms for privacy and ease.

What To Expect

Spread across a single level, Les Vignes’s floor plan comprises an open-plan kitchen, living, and dining area flanked by two bedrooms, which all open onto a protected verandah. The interiors are appointed in a mix of Afro-Scandinavian furniture pieces, state-of-the-art appliances, and contemporary South African art in an easygoing palette of biscuit and cream tones.

The Art House Difference

You’ll be hard-pressed to find a property that offers its guests more than Les Vignes: from a wide array of outdoor activities (think Padel and gym, eco-pools and horseback riding) to an on-site art gallery, spa, and daily dining options—all included in your stay on the farm.

Tide Song

Tide Song

True to its name, life at Tide Song is set to the soundtrack of waves breaking gently on the shore just a few steps away. In a palette as cool as the cresting waves and soft as seafoam drifting on the salty breeze, Tide Song never fails to evoke the wonder and calmness that comes from living by the sea.

A castle on the beach, shimmering like mother of pearl, there’s a soulful ease about Tide Song. It’s light-filled spaces flow into each other freely, opening living areas to spacious alfresco terraces perfect for taking in the ocean views—while the Hermanus beachfront awaits just past the gate.

Tucked away in a privileged seaside location, the home embraces a modern beach house feel—light, uncluttered, calming, and deeply comforting. Just moments from the shore, vibrant cafés, and scenic coastal walks, it’s the balance between seclusion and accessibility that makes it so perfect.

Sleeping Arrangements

Tide Song features 4 bedrooms: three on the ground level (two with king-size beds that open onto private outdoor areas, one with two bunk beds perfect for little ones), while the primary suite is upstairs (king-size bed) and boasts gorgeous mountain views and an in-room bathtub. All bedrooms are en suite.

What To Expect

Downstairs you’ll find the kitchen; straight out of a Nancy Meyers movie, it looks onto the dining room and the ocean beyond, while upstairs, a spacious lounge area complete with a fireplace and floor-to-ceiling glass doors that stack away to open the interiors onto the generous balcony terrace with an alfresco dining area. Throughout the house, doors lead out to little private garden pockets, offering mountain and ocean views around every corner.

The Art House Difference

From Marlene Steyn above the living room fireplace to Pierneef in the bathroom, the white walls of Tide Song do more than just usher in a cool, calm vibe—they make for an excellent gallery space. The owners, avid travellers and collectors, introduce key pieces of art and design throughout (usually in bold pops of colour), while a sensational collection of Assouline books makes very beach-vacation-approved reading.

Antoine

Antoine

Slip past an unassuming gate along one of Bo-Kaap’s cobbled streets, lined with the historic neighbourhood’s famously colourful houses, and discover a home that delivers one surprise after another.

In striking contrast to its lively surrounds, this deeply stylish two-level space is built around a lush, light-filled courtyard—a secret oasis in the city connected to Cape Town’s cultural heartbeat. Slip past an unassuming gate along one of Bo-Kaap’s cobbled streets, lined with the historic neighbourhood’s famously colourful houses, and discover a home that delivers one surprise after another.

The Lowdown

Surrounded by the largest concentration of pre-1850 architecture in South Africa, and the oldest surviving residential neighborhood in Cape Town, Bo-Kaap (or ‘Above the Cape’, in Afrikaans) is one of the city’s most culturally nuanced spaces, its history deeply entrenched in the fabric of its identity. The home’s Cape Georgian façade leads into a light-filled, double-level space, with bedrooms tucked around a central lightwell-slash-courtyard garden while, upstairs, the kitchen-dining-living room opens up onto a narrow balcony with Table Mountain views.

Sleeping Arrangements

The primary suite with a King XL bed opens up onto the lightwell/courtyard; the second bedroom with a King XL bed has a tranquil, jungle-like feeling. The third bedroom-meets-office is able to accommodate a third couple or two children on the fold-out King sleeper couch. All bedrooms are en suite.

What To Expect

A home for all seasons, the open-plan living, dining, and fully equipped kitchen area extends onto the balcony, creating a seamless indoor-outdoor connection. On cooler nights, light up the fireplace (and dial up the underfloor heating) for cosy evenings spent indoors. The home is on a power grid that is unaffected by load-shedding.

The Art House Difference

This is more than just a stay—Antoine is a live-in design masterclass. A study in contrast, where minimalist, monochrome interiors stand in bold opposition to the riot of colour outside. The architecture manages to remain faithful to the neighbourhood while still offering a simplified, almost modernist style, while every element has been carefully curated, making the home feel at once luxurious and profoundly connected to its historic surroundings.
